What is water soluble Silybin (Milk thistle extract)?

Water soluble Silybin (Milk thistle extract) is the major flavonolignan from milk thistle seed extracts, Silybum marianum. The whole extract, known as Silymarin, has been found to protect the liver from acute and chronic toxicity and injury. Milk thistle seeds contain a bioflavonoid complex known as Silymarin. Silymarin, the active ingredient in milk thistle, is simply the purified extract of the fruits of the milk thistle plant. The main ingredients are Silybin, Isosilybin, Silydianin, Silychristin, etc.

It has the efficacy of liver protecting, improving the function of the liver, promoting biliation, and diminishing liver inflammation. As a better antioxidant, it can clear free radicals in the human body and postpone senility. Silymarin can protect the liver from damage of alcohol, chemical toxicant, drug, food poison, environmental pollution; it accelerates liver cell regenerating and repairing. So it is called “The natural liver-protection drug.” In addition, Silymarin has the function of radiation hardening, arteriosclerosis preventing, skin-aging delaying. It is widely used in drugs, health products, food, and cosmetics.
